What we provide with the service

This online service allows you to:
  • follow progress and make comments on all current planning applications;
  • view details of all applications received from 1st January 2000;
  • view plans and documents associated with applications from July 2009;
  • view details of appeals and planning local reviews received from January 2004;
  • view statutory enforcement notices served since August 2012.
  • If you need to contact a local area Planning and Building Standards office to discuss any matter relating to an application, details of office locations and opening hours can be found here: local area offices

Applications and plans before July 2009

Applications and plans that are not available online are stored in archive and are not available for immediate viewing at local Planning and Building Standards Area Offices. However, if you want to see any particular application that is not online, please contact the appropriate Planning and Building Standards Area Office by telephone, email or letter and they will arrange to have the application sent to the office for you to view. You will be advised when the application is available for you. This will usually take two days to arrange.

Commenting on applications

You must make your comments within three weeks of the application being submitted (or four weeks if the application is subject to Environmental Impact Assessment). If you wish to make comments after this time period and the application has not yet been decided, please contact the case officer to see if comments can still be made. Remember your comments are made public. We will not publish any comments that we consider to be defamatory or offensive and will not take them into consideration when determining the application. Use the planning application search to find and comment on or make an objection to a planning application. When you select the application that you wish to comment on, you will be able to submit your comments via a facility within the application. Please click here for examples of valid planning issues that we can consider.
